Our company is growing and is hiring a Junior Accountant (reporting to the CFO) to join our team based at Duke Point Industrial Park in Nanaimo, BC. The position will be based in Nanaimo, BC.

Junior Accountant
Duties:
- Assist with financial accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist in the interpretation of financial reports to identify trends and provide insights
- Support the finance team in conducting financial analysis and forecasting
- Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage to perform daily tasks
Skills:
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of corporate finance principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to interpret financial reports and identify key insights
- Knowledge of private equity concepts is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
