We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Calgary-based team to support and enhance our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs.
Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator will play a key role in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining safety management systems across our operations. This role requires a balance of strong safety knowledge, administrative capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures in compliance with COR, ISO, and ISNetworld requirements.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and safety meetings to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, and incident reports.
- Support incident investigations and prepare corrective action reports.
- Coordinate and track worker training, certifications, and competency programs.
- Act as liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and industry auditors.
- Provide administrative support to the HSE department, including document control, reporting, and database management.
- Promote a strong safety culture and provide guidance to field staff and management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of safety experience in the resource sector (e.g., mining, drilling, energy, or construction).
- Solid understanding of COR, ISO management systems, and ISNetworld compliance.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Occupational Health & Safety certificate, diploma, or equivalent considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to project sites when required.
