Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Services, the Finance Officer – Community Funding is responsible for administering third party funding initiatives and managing the Homelessness Partnership Strategy Aboriginal Community Wellness Funding. The Finance Officer – Community Funding is also responsible for working with City departments to reconcile reporting of third party funding. In addition, the Finance Officer – Community Funding is responsible for providing financial reporting and tracking support services; maintaining and monitoring obligations and commitments related to third party funding budgets and ensure financial responsibilities are met. The Finance Officer – Community Funding is also responsible for the administration, accounting and reporting of various committees and projects, as well as, assisting the Finance Department with other duties as required.
A University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial setting including working with budgets, drafting proposals and writing reports.
PREFFERED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Enrollment in a recognized accounting association or professional designation.
Experience working with and developing governmental policy
Ability to speak more than one of the official languages
Equivalencies that include a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education may be considered.
