The Mobile Crane Operator operates a Liebherr excavator with a grapple and magnet attachment. The Mobile Crane Operator unloads material from customers and company vehicles, sort’s material as necessary and loads material for shipment. The Mobile Crane Operator assists in organizing and maintaining the yard. The Mobile Crane Operator does various jobs with the Liebherr to process material this includes downsizing of material and stripping material with the grapple. The Liebherr operator also feeds the bailer which includes organizing material, verifying the quality of material and feeding material into the bailer. The Mobile Crane Operator also provides assistance to cutters, moving material and magging up their work area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for loading/unloading company vehicles, customers, and brokers
- Responsible for sorting material into specific grades as it is unloaded and can require picking the ground for non-ferrous materials
- Responsible for verifying quality of ferrous and non-ferrous material and loading processed material for shipment into company and customer vehicles
- Responsible for organizing stockpiles of material within yard
- Responsible for organizing material, verifying the quality of material and feeding material into the bailer and or shredder
- Responsible for downsizing material with the grapple
- Responsible for assisting cutters by moving and repositioning material along with magging up the torch area
- Responsible for daily maintenance of Liebherr and grapple and reporting any equipment problems to maintenance
- Complete or assist in various other jobs around the yard
