About the Position
Katimavik Suites Ltd. is seeking a reliable, organized, and experienced Executive Housekeeper in Rankin Inlet, to lead our housekeeping operations and ensure our guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming stay.
The Executive Housekeeper will oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, supervise housekeeping staff, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and ensure guest rooms and common areas are consistently presented to hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and support housekeeping staff.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments and room cleaning schedules.
- Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, and other hotel spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly cleaned, stocked, and prepared for arrivals.
- Manage the housekeeping department's cleaning supplies, including maintaining inventory levels, monitoring usage, and ensuring adequate supplies are stocked.
- Prepare and submit orders for cleaning chemicals, paper products, laundry supplies, guest amenities, linens, and other housekeeping-related materials.
- Monitor supply consumption and identify opportunities to reduce waste and control housekeeping costs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular inventory counts of cleaning supplies, linens, towels, amenities, and housekeeping equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning products are properly stored, labelled, and handled in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor the condition of housekeeping equipment and arrange for repairs or replacement when required.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping concerns.
- Work closely with the Front Desk and hotel management to coordinate room status, arrivals, departures, and special guest requirements.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, lost items, and safety concerns to management.
- Assist with cleaning duties when required, particularly during busy periods or staff shortages.
- Help maintain a positive, respectful, and professional workplace.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is required.
- Previous supervisory or housekeeping management experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with inventory management, purchasing, ordering, and supply control is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving supplies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and guest-focused.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
