We are looking for an independent, electrical minded technologist who has a willingness to learn and who works well in a team-oriented work environment. This individual will work in a plant production office environment doing electrical /pneumatic /software related tasks. In this job the individual will modify and work on machine designs, as well as support the start-up of the equipment while properly documenting the drawings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Regularly use the following software packages: AutoCAD and/or Promis-E, Eplan, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio
- Generate electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and fluid power diagrams
- Create panel layout drawings, including dimensioning and BOM creation
- Support procurement of electrical BOM’s and audit parts upon arrival
- Use and manipulate file types used to manage a design package. Ex: JT, PDF, DXF, DWG
- Follow CSA, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, UL508 & UL508A and other applicable standards
- Take ownership for activities including verifying work prior to submission
- Write engineering instructions (EI) and construction completion & startup checklists
- Provide commissioning support for machine and system installations and start up support
- Perform OEM/supplier panel and/or equipment inspections per QA System
- Troubleshoot electrical hardware systems, components, devices, wiring, etc.
- Work with and assist Senior designers on various project tasks
- Adhere to the A&A QA System
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

- Has a working knowledge of power & control hardware & mechanical design
- Has a working knowledge of fluid power systems (hydraulics & pneumatics)
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation
- Ability to trouble shoot and work with PLC and HMI programs
- Canadian Passport Required
Education and/or Experience:
- Technologist Diploma in an Electrical Field
- 5 years of professional experience after completion of education
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Mathematical Skills:
- Basic math and problem-solving skills required
- Unit conversion from SI to metric and vice versa
Reasoning Ability:
- Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.
Computer Skills:
- Understands basic IT functions (networks, switches & routers, etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and affiliated software packages
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Promis-E, EPlan and/or AutoCAD experienced preferred
- Rockwell/Allen-Bradley software preferred
- Must be capable of learning other software packages
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- None required
- Any Rockwell classes, certificates are a plus, such as PLC Design, Troubleshooting, Programming, etc

- Flexibility to support multiple machine start-ups and changing customer demands
- Individual must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers and/or customers at all levels of the organization and present data to diverse audiences
