Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients when needed.
- Support the catering and banquet teams by providing clean dishware and assisting with setup or cleanup during events.
- Maintain cleanliness in dishwashing stations, including sinks, counters, and storage areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Bypass or troubleshoot dishwashing machinery as necessary to ensure continuous operation during busy service hours.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to facilitate smooth food service operations by bussing tables or clearing plates when appropriate.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and food safety regulations related to dishwashing and kitchen sanitation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy trays or loads of dishes.
