As a 309-A Electrician and Site Supervisor (foreman), you manage complex projects, supervise crews of over five to thirty people, and oversee projects exceeding 2000 hours. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in handling multi-phased ICI (Industrial Commercial Institutional) projects with escalated schedules, requiring large crews, involving complex electrical systems, or any combination of these.
You must be a strong communicator as you must represent Kraun professionally in all site interactions, including meetings, conversations and written reports such as daily journals & RFI's. You must be well-organized and goal-oriented and have extensive electrical knowledge in the ICI sectors (Industrial Commercial Institutional),
You can expect to work on projects such as retirement facilities, nursing homes, multi-floor condominium buildings, factories, and schools.

Role and Responsibilities
- Always represent Kraun with professionalism and consistently demonstrate SPARK values
- Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, brackets, boxes and other electrical components
- Install & energize equipment related to power distribution, such as panels, circuits, transformers, relays, etc.
- Install life safety systems, including fire alarms, nurse calls, emergency lighting and generators
- Connect electrical power to various devices and systems, including mechanical systems, alarm systems, etc.
- Diagnose/Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop/implement practical solutions
- Ensure all installations are in compliance with Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) codes and building codes
- Install according to project documentation such as specifications, contracts and written scopes of work
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
- Test continuity of circuits to ensure safety and correct installation
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of company-provided tools and equipment, ensuring they are organized and stored securely to maximize efficiency and minimize loss or theft
- Comply with all company policies, including no performing electrical work outside of Kraun Electric and your personal residence per payroll files
- Complete daily journals
- Lead a team of electricians & apprentices, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality installations and personal development
- Lead and enforce safety protocols and best practices through safety talks, site inspections, hazard analysis, and other documentation & communications
- Drive project success by being well-organized and goal-oriented
- Collaborate closely with project managers, team leads, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives
- Conduct regular quality control checks to uphold our commitment to excellence
- Foster a positive work environment where team members feel safe productive, and that they matter
- Supervise sub-contractors
- Ensure resources (labour, material, equipment, etc.) are adequate
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and proper utilization. Report any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Supervise attendance & performance. Address concerns promptly, utilizing appropriate documentation.
- Supervise overall organization of tools, equipment & materials to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal loss.
- Complete reports and submissions in a timely fashion with appropriate details (e.g. billing details, time cards, daily logs, safety documentation)
- Build and maintain effective relationships with various parties such as inspectors, owners, other trades
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
- Ontario G License in Good Standing - must provide a clean 3-year Drivers' Abstract
- Must pass a background screening, which includes reference checks and the provision of a clean criminal reference check
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician in new & existing industrial, commercial and/or institutional sectors
- Minimum two years of experience as an electrical site supervisor
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarm, generators, control lighting
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent knowledge and comprehension of Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
- Excellent critical thinking and solution-oriented
- Able to work well on a team
- Able to work within a schedule-driven environment, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Able to communicate and report effectively in English, both verbal and written
- Well-organized & reliable

Working Environment & Physical Demands
Working conditions include but are not limited to:
- Outdoor Work: You will be required to work outdoors, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Height: The job will involve working at heights, such as climbing ladders and scaffolds or working on elevated platforms.
- Confined Spaces: You will need to work in tight and confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or utility tunnels.
- Lifting and Carrying: The position will require lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy items and equipment weighing more than 50 pounds, such as conduit, wiring, tools, and machinery.
- Uneven Terrain: Electricians may need to navigate and work on uneven terrain, including construction sites, unfinished buildings, and outdoor landscapes.
- Physical Demands: The job involves physical exertion and stamina to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking flights of stairs for extended periods.
- Noise and Vibrations: The work environment will involve exposure to loud noises from machinery and equipment and vibrations from power tools and heavy machinery.
- Safety Gear: Compliance with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.
- Flexible Schedule: Depending on project deadlines and client requirements, the job may require working evenings, weekends, or overtime.
- Teamwork: Collaboration with other individuals, including team members, contractors, and project managers, is essential and requires effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Travel: Some projects may require travel to different job sites, which may involve longer drives.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical health and fitness are necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively.
- Adherence to Regulations: Compliance with local building codes, electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards is mandatory.
