Kindergarten Montessori Teacher
Location: Learning Grove Academy – Maple, Vaughan
Learning Grove Academy is a growing educational community located in the family-friendly neighbourhood of Maple, Vaughan. We are dedicated to nurturing the whole child through a warm, inclusive, and child-centered approach that blends authentic Montessori principles with Ontario’s How Does Learning Happen? framework.
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and committed Montessori Kindergarten Teacher to join our team and take the lead in launching our new kindergarten classroom. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for an educator who is excited to build a beautiful, welcoming classroom from the ground up and play a key role in establishing a vibrant new learning environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be an essential part of the Learning Grove Academy team, helping bring our vision to life. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and organizing a beautiful, high-fidelity Montessori kindergarten classroom
- Selecting and arranging Montessori materials thoughtfully and intentionally
- Participating in and leading classroom tours for prospective families
- Planning and delivering a developmentally appropriate, child-centered Montessori curriculum
- Creating a classroom culture of independence, kindness, and curiosity
- Fostering strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Observing, documenting, and communicating student progress regularly
- Collaborating with administrators and fellow educators as part of a supportive, professional team
Qualifications
We are looking for an educator who brings both heart and skill to their teaching. The ideal candidate will have:
- MACTE-accredited Montessori 3–6 (Casa or equivalent) training
- A genuine passion for child development and the Montessori philosophy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Initiative and confidence in leading a new classroom setup
- Ability to work collaboratively in a start-up environment
- Experience with family engagement or school tours is an asset
- Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
