CAD Structural Designer
LHW Engineering Ltd. has been a growing company in the engineering consulting industry since 2012. . We are currently seeking an experienced structural CAD Designer/Engineer to join our friendly team.
---The successful applicant will have over 3 years of drafting experience in residential and/or industrial building projects, with particularly strong knowledge of single-family dwelling design and steel structures for industrial buildings.
-- proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 3D modeling .
---Knowledge of the engineering principles involved in the design of residential houses, and industrial buildings; Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Zoning by Law.
---Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks efficiently, and deliver accurate, high-quality work on schedule.
--Excellent communication skills to resolve client’s issues/concerns about the projects by emails, phone calls and written correspondence.
--Initiative/self-management and teamwork skills to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
--Accountable, adaptable, and able to plan, prioritize, organize, and carry out tasks to meet deadlines.
----Meet company standards for attendance and punctuality. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and provide proper site measurement and information, as well as on-site verification of layout drawing as required.
- Preparing and developing CAD drawings using the CAD tools.
- Edit, update, and organize CAD drawings according to the design change request by the client to make sure every request is fully responded to on time.
- Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies, check own works for errors.
- Prepare, submit, and track permit application packages with all necessary drawings, documents, and forms.
- Communicate with the city and clients directly about details, and address the city’s comments to get the permits.
- Ensure projects are on track to meet project requirements, deadlines, and budgets and participate in post-construction quality reviews
- Work on multiple and diverse projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize workload accordingly
- Maintain organized documentation of jobs for future reference.
- Treat all LHW Engineering Company information and customer information in a confidential manner.
Required Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an Architectural Engineer program

Pay: $50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
