Overview
Jim Pattison Developments is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Receptionist for Powell River Town Centre. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting administrative functions within our office environment. The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Property Manager and provide professional front-line service and administrative support to the Property Management team. The ideal candidate will be organized, have strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, be proficient in office software, and is committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
Duties
- Greet and assist tenants, visitors, contractors, and service providers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails; respond to inquiries or route them appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized reception and common area.
- Provide general administrative support to the Property Management team. This may include responding to emails, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and maintaining office supplies.
- Assist with tenant inquiries, concerns and requests. Maintain positive tenant relationships and ensure tenant satisfaction.
- Support the rent collection process by monitoring tenant payments, issuing rent reminders and receipts, and following up on overdue payments. Collect and reconcile laundry coin revenue and assist with deposits.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair requests with maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of work orders and resolution of issues.
- Draft correspondence, distribute bulletins, and ensure proper documentation of communications.
- Maintain accurate and organized property records, including lease agreements, tenant files, maintenance logs, financial documents, and other property-related documentation. Ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements and data protection policies.
- Provide general support to the property management team, including assisting with special projects, conducting research, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Undertake additional tasks or projects assigned by the Property Management .
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years proven experience in reception, administrative support, or a related customer-facing role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and comfort with databases or property management software (Angus AnyWhere is an asset).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Experience providing service to diverse populations is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Additional experience, training or certification with property administration is a plus
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is an asset.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per year
