We currently have a career opportunity for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technician.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assemble and integrate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) from the component level up
Ensure all components are assembled and configured correctly and safely according to mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, standard procedures or other specifications
Create documentation of systems and assembly, manufacturing or quality assurance procedures
Perform regular inspection and maintenance tasks to ensure aircraft flight-readiness
Control and organize tools and inventory within the production environment
Setup equipment to support flight operations at company or client sites
Prepare technical reports and briefings based on test results
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

College diploma in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics engineering
At least 1 year of professional experience working in an electrical / robotics lab or manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with electronics, embedded systems, autopilots, robotics and / or mechanical systems
Experience in or knowledge of the UAV industry
Experience assembling, configuring and/or working with safety critical systems
Behavioural Competencies and Personal Attributes

Minimum 1 year wiring, soldering, crimping and other electronic assembly skills
Hands on mechanical assembly skills including working with power tools and cutting materials
Attention to detail

Strong commitment to safety
Hands on experience working on electronic systems and components
Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and complete tasks on schedule with limited supervision
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, Excel, Word, etc.
Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgement
Hours of Work, Work Environment and Potential Travel

40 hours per week and some overtime occasionally
8:30am to 4:30pm
Position is predominantly in an engineering lab, and field projects is expected
Some travel within Canada required
Valid Class-G driver’s license in good standing and regular access to a personal vehicle required
