Registered Behaviour Analyst

Position Type / Hours: Full-Time Permanent , Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, aligning with school year, plus overtime as required. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
Annual Compensation: 10 Month Grid Level 7 $ 76,934 - $94,454 commensurate with education, skills and experience.
Under the guidance of the Senior Psychologist, the Registered Behaviour Analyst is responsible for delivering expert consultation, clinical support, and training to enhance the educational experience of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special education needs. This role integrates Applied Behaviour Analysis principles into instructional methodologies and program development across the school system. The Registered Behaviour Analyst collaborates with the Board and school staff to create tailored intervention plans, track student progress, and modify strategies based on evidence-based practices. The ultimate goal is to create supportive learning environments that maximize student potential, promote positive behaviour change, and improve overall well-being. By aligning applied behaviour analysis strategies with broader educational objectives, the role plays a critical part in fostering inclusive, adaptive, and effective educational settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments that include observations, data collection, and analysis. Review Ontario Student Records and apply both indirect and direct assessment measures.
- Construct recommendations and communicate results to parents/caregivers and school staff.
- Deliver evidence-based applied behaviour analysis interventions directly to students and coach school staff to implement these strategies effectively
- Provide expert consultation to Board staff, school staff, community agencies and parents/caregivers on matters related to student learning, behaviour management, safety and independent functioning
- Respond to urgent situations, such as behavioural crises, threats of self-harm or violence.
- Facilitate student transitions (eg. Starting school, moving between boards, international relocation)
- Provide clinical supervision and training to Behaviour Support Technicians who deliver behavioural services but are not registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Maintain accurate clinical records, supervision notes, and perform data analysis
- Provide clinical oversight of Behaviour Support Technician work
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:
- Master’s Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Applied Disability Studies, Education or Psychology, or a related field
- Registered Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), including 200 supervised hours
- Proficiency in behavioural observation, individualized data collection methods, and data analysis
- Ability to complete Functional Behavioural Assessments (FBA) and construct comprehensive behaviour management and skills development programs
- Expertise in applying applied behaviour analysis strategies and programs, including individualized reinforcement, self monitoring and self regulation interventions
- Experience working with children and youth with special education needs, particularly ASD
- Experience providing clinical supervision
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to standards of practice, ethics, consent and confidentiality
- Empathy and patience to work effectively with students with special needs and their families
- Problem-solving skills to address and manage challenging behaviours and situations
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor Behaviour Support Technicians and other staff
- Strong flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and environments
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
