Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting skilled plumbers and tradespeople in various plumbing projects, ensuring efficient and safe operations on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic mechanical skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry. This position offers hands-on experience in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and maintenance tasks, providing a solid foundation for future career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Must have drivers licence and a vehicle
- Bilingual an asset
- Must be reliable, working 5 days a week. Some night work or weekends is required occasionally
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to support plumbing tasks
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to aid in assembly and installation processes
- Perform basic carpentry and construction duties related to plumbing projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on-site
- Support with the setup of scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment necessary for project completion
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and to high standards
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or related trades such as HVAC, carpentry, or maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and blueprint reading is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and assembly processes is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to measurements and material estimations
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills in plumbing and construction trades
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform manual labor for extended periods
