Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Assist in the maintenance of delivery vehicles, including basic automotive repair when necessary.
- Operate heavy equipment or forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred; must have a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving or freight transportation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automotive repair is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment or forklifts safely.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as required during deliveries.
- Good communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
