Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across various commercial and institutional spaces. This role is vital in ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors. Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals committed to high standards of cleanliness.
Location of this role is Walmart, Owen Sound.
Duties
- Scrub and Burnish floors - overnight shift only
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to established protocols
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners regularly
- Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when supplies are low
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
- Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities
- Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning duties
- Ensure all assigned areas meet cleanliness standards at the end of each shift
Requirements
- Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus
- Reliable, punctual, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Pay: $17.95-$19.00 per hour
