Suntech Electric and Controls Ltd. is an electrical, automation, instrumentation, and SCADA contracting company based in Rocky View County, Alberta. With a team of about 40 people — including a dedicated programming group and journeyperson electricians — we work primarily as a subcontractor on industrial and municipal water infrastructure projects
About the Role
We're looking for a Safety & Operations Coordinator to take ownership of our health and safety program while supporting purchasing, administration, and project coordination. This is a hands-on, generalist role suited to someone who wants variety day-to-day and room to grow into a company's safety and operations backbone as we expand.
What You'll Do
Safety (~40–50%)
- Maintain and update Suntech's written health and safety program
- Compile and submit safety statistics to prequalification/auditing bodies (ISNetworld, Avetta)
- Monitor field compliance on construction and electrical worksites
- Track incidents, near-misses, inspections, and toolbox talk documentation
- Conduct internal/maintenance COR audits in years 2 and 3 of our 3-year certification cycle (training provided)
Purchasing (~20%)
- Issue and track purchase orders
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on material availability and delivery
- Support material tracking for active projects
Administration (~15%)
- General office and administrative support
Project Coordination (~10–15%)
- Assist project managers with scheduling and documentation
- Support day-to-day coordination across active job sites
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in a safety, administrative, purchasing, or coordination role — ideally in construction, electrical, or industrial settings
- NHSA (National Health & Safety Administrator) designation, or willingness to obtain it within your first 12 months (we'll support the training)
- Comfortable with documentation, recordkeeping, and juggling multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills — you'll be working with field crews, clients, and auditing bodies
- Valid driver's license
