Veterinary Technician Assistant (Permanent Full-Time)

Schedule
Our hospital is open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight).
- 8-10 hour shifts
- Evening availability is required (must be able to work until midnight)
- Weekend availability is required, with shifts shared on a rotating schedule (approximately 2-3 weekends per month)
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient vital signs for appointments and hospitalized patients
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Assist Veterinary Technicians/Registered Veterinary Technicians with surgical preparation and patient care
- Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Provide exceptional client service by communicating professionally and compassionately with pet owners
- Assist with general hospital duties as required to support patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of veterinary assistant experience is required
- Genuine interest in animal health and welfare
- Positive attitude with a strong focus on client service
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Comfortable lifting and restraining animals weighing up to 50 lbs. (We are not a hands-free clinic.)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop new skills
