Mi9 Retail is looking for a Web Developer for our Toronto office. As a member of our agile software development team, you will be building the next generation of our flagship product - merchandise management system - while using the latest technologies, adding new and enhancing existing features

What you’ll be doing

Participate in Agile Scrum processes as a member of a Scrum team
Collaborate with team members on the best design and architecture
Write code in JavaScript using frameworks such as React, Redux and Node
Write unit, functional and other types of tests using JEST and other similar tools
Using a GIT repository to check-in and out code, issue push and pull requests
Adhere to and contribute to the company coding standards and best practices in a collaborative and scientific manner
Participate in peer and code reviews
Other duties as assigned

You will be contributing to our modern web-based products that help many retail companies to run their core business. Depending on your experience, you may also have opportunities to mentor junior members of the team.

What you bring to the table

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Superior attention to detail and focus on task completion to requirement
Expert in React (1 year), JavaScript (2 years), CSS and SASS (2 years), and HTML (2 years)
Solid experience writing unit tests and utilizing test-driven development
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility, and expert knowledge of browser debugging tools
Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of colleagues, both in person and remotely
Good English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
A demonstrated dedication to continuous learning
Nice to have

Retail business knowledge - specifically merchandise management
Experience with one or more of the following: NodeJS, RxJS, Redux, Selenium, BitBucket/Git, SQL
Scrum experience
JIRA & Confluence
