Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Food Production Associates to join our team. In this role, you will work on automated production lines, contributing to every stage of the process-from receiving and preparing raw potatoes to final freezing, packaging and preparation of shipment of consumer-ready frozen goods. Your primary focus will be ensuring food safety, product quality, and efficient operation in compliance with strict regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and assist with automated production equipment and lines, including potato receiving/washing, loading, peeling, cutting, blanching, frying, freezing, sorting, and packaging machinery.
- Load raw materials into processing equipment, monitor feed rates, and ensure consistent flow to maintain production targets.
- Perform routine quality checks at critical control points (CCPs) throughout the line, including visual inspection for defects, size/quality grading, temperature monitoring, and product sampling.
- Strictly adhere to HACCP and SQF protocols, including monitoring critical limits, recording data accurately on production logs, and reporting any deviations immediately to supervisors for corrective action.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation standard operation procedures, allergen controls, and food safety policies and programs to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
- Conduct basic equipment adjustments, minor troubleshooting, and report mechanical issues to maintenance teams promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, perform line clean-ups, sanitization between runs, and end-of-shift deep cleans as required.
- Assist with changeovers between product specifications and verify setup against production schedules.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in required food safety training, audits, and mock recalls; contribute to a strong food safety culture.
- Handle and move materials safely using appropriate equipment, while adhering to workplace health and safety standards.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time by management.
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Commitment to food safety and quality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a food service environment or HACCP-based food manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Knowledge and comfort of using knives and peelers.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated/frozen environment and stand/walk for extended periods
- Basic math skills for measurement, weights, and data recording.
- A valid food handler certification is an asset.
- HACCP I and/or HACCP II training is an asset.
- Capable of lifting up to 40-50lbs.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
