We’re actively seeking an experienced Operator to join our Operations Team at our Cactus Lake facility located 25 minutes south of Macklin, Saskatchewan. This position requires the successful candidate to reside in the Macklin District or be willing to relocate upon hire.
Reporting to the Lead Operator, this role is responsible for having a full working knowledge of safety procedures, Field/Plant equipment and Field/Plant operations in all areas. The incumbent will ensure maximum product recovery and maintenance of throughputs within license restrictions. As well ensure that all oil meets specifications.
The successful candidate will:
Maintain a safe and efficient operation of the Field/Plant to optimize production and maintain all processes within specifications. Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
This role will rotate through the control panel and all units. You will exercise judgement in the selection of work methods and initiate changes to work routines where performance can be improved without sacrificing safety or product quality. May plan and coordinate the work of contract or maintenance crews with Lead Operator.
Skills and Qualifications include:
Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in an oil treating facility.
Ensure compliance with, and commitment to, Strathcona’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices
Direct maintenance and ensure that the work is completed as per Strathcona’s procedures and work standards
Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise within the Field/Plant environment i.e., troubleshooting, flagging deficiencies, and recommending changes to current practices.
Focus on safety, environment and health of employees while maximizing production
Be willing to train/work in all operating positions
Ensure all areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company standards
Manage equipment lock out/tag out as required
Continue to use and learn computer software applicable to the facility
Demonstrate proficiency in all competencies
Assist in coverage for vacation, sick days and leaves and upset conditions
Completion of Grade 12
Work 12 hour shifts on a day/night shift rotation, 7 on, 7 off in a plant environment, including weekends, holidays and other shift coverage as required
Working outside in changing weather conditions
Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence (a driver’s abstract is required)
