TThis role is for an experienced Oracle database administrator to manage the Oracle database of our company’s IFS ERP system.
You will be required to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and regularly maintain the database security.
To ensure success as an Oracle database administrator, you should have extensive experience with DBA tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Oracle database management.
The role will require you to liaise with internal customers and stakeholders, to understand their business processes and support required system configurations. This role would suit someone with hands on experience of working with ERP systems (ideally IFS, but prior knowledge of any other ERP hosted on Oracle is also valid). Ultra Maritime is a leading Global Engineering and Defense company where you will be heavily invested in and provided with a clear line of progression.
The Oracle Database Administrator reports to the IFS Team Lead and is accountable to the Global IT Applications & PMO Director.

Job Description

Keep the oracle database running in a healthy and efficient state.
-
Work with the infrastructure team to ensure business continuity and appropriate backup and recovery procedures in place.
-
Manage multiple IFS environments including production, dev, and test.
-
Performing data refreshes (re-clones) from the production database.
-
Troubleshoot, debug, and fix malfunctioning components/processes of the IFS system.
-
Manage user access of the IFS system - both granting existing defined permission sets and making changes to permission set definitions where needed.

Conduct investigations for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies.
-
Work closely with Product owners, process owners, project managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to recommend options and define priority.

Use appropriate tools to contribute to the development of system architectures in specific business or functional areas.

Produce detailed component specifications and translate these into detailed designs for implementation in IFS Solution.

Re-configuration and/or re-implementation of existing functionality to support required process changes.

Development of customizations that alter and/or enhance the existing functionality.

Work closely with other Team members to deliver significant change programs which may affect multiple business functions.

Contribute to the systems capability strategy that meets the strategic requirements of the business.

Take responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management, practices, processes, procedures, organization, and equipment.

Use data analysis and modelling techniques to develop and maintain data structures to support business solutions, ensuring adherence to corporate data standards and provide advice and guidance to developers.

Possess broad understanding of business and business activities with deep knowledge in at least one area of specialization.

Associate/Bachelor’s degree level or hold relevant experience in Business / Systems / Functional Analysis
