You are flexible and able to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines is imperative and can demonstrate that you are skilled in effective management of internal and external stakeholders.
As Project Manager you will be responsible for management of the project lifecycle through the effective planning, execution and delivery of the assigned project. You will be responsible for relationship management, reporting, risk management, allocating resources, scheduling and budgeting, and ensuring work is delivered on time to achieve customer-satisfaction.
This position will report directly to the Director, Programs for Vard Electro Canada.
As the Project Manager, your responsibilities, will include:
Creating, implementing and executing project plans which include, but are not limited to, the Project Management Plan, System Engineering Management Plan, Subcontract Management Plan and Risk Management Plan.
Managing the overall performance of the project to ensure financial, quality, schedule and customer satisfaction objectives are met.
Ensuring the effective communication and escalation (as necessary) of internal and external stakeholders
Ensuring that the project performance dashboard KPIs, metrics and other indicators are effectively reported and that they provide a clear and accurate status of performance
Providing a return-to-green plan/corrective action plan for any KPIs or metrics that are not meeting targets
Ensuring the effective oversight and management of staff performance assigned to the project
Supporting business objectives and initiatives as directed from time-to-time
The coordination of all necessary resources and stakeholders to effect project success
Establishing, implementing, a formal change management program against established project schedule and technical baselines.
Ensuring compliance to all Vard Quality Management System processes and procedures and supporting their continuous improvement
Perform other duties as requested
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant field
5+ years of Project Management experience in a related industry
Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
Persuasive and motivating, with a strong focus on managing subcontractors/consultants
Previous maritime, shipyard or shipboard knowledge or experience is an asset
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, and experience managing people
Able to effectively work with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management
Confident in use of Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and similar tools
Skills & Competencies:
Organization and Planning skills
Must be eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian government security clearance.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Willingness to work flexible hours with occasional work outside of regular working hours to accommodate time zones
Occasional travel may be required
