Position Overview:
As the Head of Sales, you will ultimately be in charge of bolstering and rebuilding our sales department. You’ll begin by getting to know our product offerings, clients, and customers while finding ways to grow both our existing sales channels and brand new ones.
Over time you’ll be responsible for hiring, training, delegating to, and managing a dynamic sales team. This team will focus on fostering strong relationships with key clients, and identifying new business opportunities to expand our reach in different areas of our industry—from corporate and professional team sales, to in-store retailers, and more.
This role requires a proven sales leader with a track record in this or a related industry, and an existing understanding of the types of product offerings we deal with. Your ability to bring a history of accounts and contacts to the table to hit the ground running is a definite plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Execute Sales Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet the company’s revenue goals and expand market share across retail, online, and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Team Leadership: Determine where new hires are needed, then work to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team. Set KPIs, provide ongoing coaching, and drive accountability to ensure the team delivers consistent results.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, sports franchises, athletes, and partners.
- New Business Development: Identify and secure new opportunities in emerging markets, product lines, and distribution channels, including partnerships with retailers, e-commerce platforms, and corporate sponsors.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance metrics. Regularly report on sales performance to the executive team and suggest strategies to optimize profitability.
- Market Research & Competitor Analysis: Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the sports marketing and memorabilia sector.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment and maximize sales potential across all channels.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8+ years of sales experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally within sports marketing, consumer goods, or memorabilia industries.
- Experience with Netsuite is a plus.
- Existing contacts in the corporate, brick and mortar, professional sport teams, etc. is a definite plus
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of the sports and sports memorabilia industries and fan culture, with experience managing relationships with athletes, teams, or sports organizations.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse sales team.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
