Hill County Property Services is seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Technician to join our growing construction division. We are looking for a motivated individual with 3-5 years of landscape construction experience who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and enjoys being part of a professional team.
Working under the direction of a Team Lead, you will assist in the construction of high-quality residential and commercial landscape projects throughout Northumberland, Quinte, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the construction of hardscape and landscape projects.
- Install interlock patios, walkways, driveways, and retaining walls.
- Perform grading, excavation, and site preparation.
- Install natural stone, armour stone, and garden features.
- Install sod, trees, shrubs, and planting beds.
- Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and transport materials.
- Read and follow site plans and project instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Work collaboratively with the Team Lead and other crew members.
- Provide professional service and represent Hill County positively on client sites.
Equipment Experience
Experience operating or assisting with the following equipment is considered an asset:
- Skid Steers
- Mini Excavators
- Compact Wheel Loaders
- Plate Compactors
- Jumping Jack Compactors
- Cut-off Saws
- Concrete Saws
- Power Wheelbarrows
- Chainsaws and handheld power equipment
- Landscape lasers and grading equipment
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of landscape construction experience required
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence (DZ is considered an asset)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience reading landscape drawings is an asset
- Knowledge of proper construction techniques and safe equipment operation
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from a Team Lead
- Punctual, dependable, and committed to quality workmanship
