About the Role
We are seeking a warm, proactive, and highly reliable Household Helper/Mother’s Helper to support our family home in Puslinch. This role is designed for a versatile "second pair of hands" who is happy to jump in wherever needed.
Your tasks will shift between childcare, home organization, meal prep & serving, light cleaning, and helping the mother manage the morning routine. The ideal candidate is energetic, adaptable, observant, and thrives in a dynamic environment where duties change based on the family's daily needs.
Key Responsibilities
Mother's Assistance & Errands
- Working alongside the mother to manage the morning rush during weekends and have the household calm and organized.
- Running local errands as needed (e.g., quick grocery pickups, drop-offs).
- Helping manage daily routines, schedules, and keeping the home functional.
Light Housekeeping & Daily Organization
- Keeping the home neat, tidy, and well-presented (tidying kitchens, wiping counters, loading/unloading the dishwasher).
- Organizing children’s play areas, bedrooms, and family belongings.
- Emptying garbage, recycling, and ensuring general upkeep of common areas.
Flexible Child Support
- Providing an extra set of hands with two children (e.g., assisting with dressing, feeding, or keeping them engaged while mom handles other tasks).
- Maintaining a patient, positive, and nurturing atmosphere for the kids.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a mother's helper, nanny, or working in private home organization/housekeeping.
- Adaptability: Highly flexible with a "no task is too small" attitude; able to anticipate needs and take initiative without constant supervision.
- Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for our Puslinch location and for running errands.
- Certifications: A valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and current CPR/First Aid certification are required.
- Personal Attributes: Trustworthy, punctual, detail-oriented, respectful of family privacy, and a great communicator.
- Bonus Asset: A background or familiarity with Montessori methods (encouraging independence in children) is a major plus!
