About the Opportunity:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for helping and maintaining the smooth operation of our organization's technology and equipment that powers our employee's productivity.You will be responsible for responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving a range of technical support issues in a timely manner. This includes:
Review and respond to IT cases quickly to help keep employees online and productive.
The ongoing maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of networks, hardware, security settings, PCs, in-store displays and online cameras - to keep them running and updated.
The staging of employee PCs and installation/setup of applications and network access required for their job role. In addition, this individual will be responsible for managing IT profiles and equipment returns for terminated employees as well as assisting employees transitioning from one role to another.
Administering our systems, OEM interfaces, Windows PCs and Mobile Devices.
Email management and support, basic networking support.
Monitor backup systems and virtual machines to keep them operational
Enforce cyber security policies as well as group policies to secure the business
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and help maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment
The specialist will become knowledgeable about our main software - PBS Systems - as well as general IT technologies, so they can stay up to date on best IT practices and trends and support users.
Participate in weekly meetings and provide valuable feedback to improve Bruce Auto Group's IT operations.
The IT specialist is responsible for the maintenance, new user and department setup of our VOIP phone system.
Reporting IT concerns to management and staying on top of endpoint and email security.
Other duties may be required.
Training new hires as needed on the PC/IT requirements of their job including Google Workspace.

You are a recent graduate of the Information Technology Program. You have a passion for technology and love to share your ideas of the latest trends. You are great at troubleshooting and diagnosing problems. You are a team player and can work well under pressure and independently when needed. You have excellent communication skills have the ability to speak to your audience (technical vs. user-friendly language) You are organized, detail-oriented and can multitask. You are able to travel to all of our locations within Nova Scotia.
