Lead your own specialist gas turbine overhaul workshop. Work on industry-leading gas turbine projects. Build your career with a growing international business.
Maddex Turbine Services, part of Rotation Group, is looking for a Workshop Manager to lead our Overhaul & Repair operations in Fort St John, British Columbia.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a specialist gas turbine overhaul and repair workshop, lead a skilled team, and play a key role in the continued growth of our Canadian operations. The role offers genuine responsibility, strong leadership support, and a clear pathway to make a lasting impact within a growing global organisation.
We welcome applications from candidates across Canada and are prepared to provide relocation assistance, including moving costs and flights for the successful candidate and their immediate family.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of our Fort St John workshop. You'll lead production execution, coordinate labour and resources, oversee workshop facilities and equipment, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. You might already be an experienced Workshop Manager, Operations Manager or Service Manager. Equally, you might be a Supervisor, Team Leader, Technical Lead or Project Manager with strong mechanical and leadership capability, looking for the opportunity to step into your first Workshop Manager position.
Key responsibilities include:
· Leading daily workshop operations and production activities
· Coordinating labour, materials and resources to meet delivery priorities
· Hands‑on leadership, coaching, and guidance to a team of gas turbine technicians
· Maintaining a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
· Monitoring production progress and proactively resolving operational challenges
· Working closely with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure successful project execution
· Ensuring workshop facilities, tooling and equipment remain safe and fit for purpose
· Maintaining compliance with quality systems, ISO requirements and company procedures
What We're Looking For
Essential
· Experience leading teams in a workshop, manufacturing, industrial, repair or similar hands-on environment
· Strong people leadership and coaching capability
· Practical mechanical aptitude and sound technical judgement
· Experience coordinating production, projects, resources or operational priorities
· Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
· Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence
Highly Desirable
· Gas turbine experience
· GE LM2500 experience
· Rotating equipment, turbomachinery or power generation experience
· Overhaul and repair experience
· Industrial service or field service leadership experience
Don't tick every box? We still encourage you to apply. Strong leadership capability, mechanical aptitude and the ability to build a high-performing team are just as important as direct gas turbine experience.
Relevant backgrounds:
· Gas Turbine, turbomachinery or rotating equipment technical leaders looking to step into broader operational leadership.
· Workshop, production or industrial service leaders with experience managing people, workflow, resources and operational performance in a hands-on environment.
· Project or operations professionals with strong planning, coordination and leadership capability within power generation, O&G, or heavy engineering.
What We Offer
· Competitive salary depending on experience
· Relocation assistance for candidates moving to Fort St John, including flights and assistance with moving costs for you and your immediate family
· Eligibility to participate in Rotation Group’s global annual bonus program, which shares in the success of the business when performance objectives are achieved
· Overtime
· A generous 4 weeks’ annual leave per year, and a birthday day off
· Travel to NZ
