Wheel King Trans Haul Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Diesel Mechanic required to work in our on-site Maintenance Shop at our Milton, ON location to repair our trucks, trailers, lift trucks and other on-site equipment.

Primary Objectives:

  • Perform minor and major repairs on trucks, semis and other HD Diesel vehicles on electrical and/or pneumatic systems
  • Conduct regular and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Contribute to and maintain a clean and safe facility
  • Perform inspection and diagnostics
  • Work with team members to diagnose problems
  • Gather parts list for repairs
  • Coordinate parts that need to be ordered with service writer
  • Inform management of extent and possible costs of repairs
  • Ensure Company Safety policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE guidelines) are always followed
  • Ensure that all trucks are in good and safe operating condition

Education & Experience:

  • This position generally requires at least 1-2 years of related experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate, Diesel Certification or equivalent will be considered as an asset but not required
  • Valid driver’s license considered an asset.
  • Experience operating hand and air tools
  • Experience working with different engines, motors, breaks and hydraulics specifications
  • Familiarity working with equipment and tools involving mechanical, diesel and electronic systems

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to safely lift heavy parts (i.e. brake drums, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Maintenance Shop environment
