Steelhaus is currently recruiting for a Tool Technician with Lead Hand experience.Reporting to the Shop Superintendent, you will work closely with other tool technicians in the assembly and testing of Steelhaus products. You will coordinate with other departments including shipping/receiving and quality control. This is a full time hourly paid position. Specific responsibilities include the following;

  • Assembly and testing of Steelhaus tools following documented assembly procedures
  • Reviewing and following work orders and assembly drawing packages to assemble products
  • Record and confirm the accurate use of part numbers in the assembly process
  • Performing regular preventive maintenance tasks on tools and in the shop
  • Tracking consumption of shop supplies, hand tools and equipment spare parts and assisting in inventory for parts ordering
  • Assisting in shipping and receiving parts and materials
  • Ongoing regular shop cleaning and organization
  • Assist the test engineers in testing process for products in design stage

What you Bring:

  • Previous work experience in a machine shop or manufacturing facility with assembly processes
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office) with ability to navigate electronic files
  • Experience reading and understanding Bills of Materials (BOMS)
  • Experience reviewing and understanding engineering drawings
  • Skilled in the use of various hand tools
  • Forklift certification is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in spoken and written English
  • Physical capability to safely lift, bend and twist carrying heavy material over 50 lbs
  • Strong vision and hearing are required
  • Proven self-starter with an ability to work independently and follow directions
  • Possess a team oriented attitude
  • Reliable and consistent work history
