Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress with a minimum of 5 years clothing industry experience to join our downtown Toronto studio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sewing and garment construction, with experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments preferred and should be well versed with industrial sewing machines. This role involves creating, repairing, and altering clothing and textiles to meet quality standards and customer specifications. The Seamstress will play a vital part in ensuring our products are crafted with precision and care, contributing to the overall success of our production process.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, sew, and assemble fabric pieces according to design specifications and patterns
- Alter and repair garments to ensure proper fit and quality standards
- Operate sewing machines and other related equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies, making necessary adjustments
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality expectations
- Follow all safety protocols related to manufacturing environments
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Seamstress or in a similar sewing or garment construction role
- Manufacturing or warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills
- Ability to operate sewing machines and related tools confidently
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions comfortably
- Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing setting is preferred
