We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview
As a Physiotherapist Assistant, you will work closely under the supervision and direction of our Registered Physiotherapists to implement individualized treatment plans. You will play a pivotal role in assisting patients through therapeutic exercises, managing modality applications, maintaining treatment spaces, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care Support: Assist patients with prescribed therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities as outlined by the supervising physiotherapist.
- Modalities Application: Set up and apply therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrotherapy/TENS, heat/ice packs, traction) under guidance.
- Patient Engagement & Education: Encouraging and supporting patients through their recovery plans while monitoring their comfort and safety during treatment sessions.
- Clinic Maintenance & Hygiene: Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized treatment rooms, exercise areas, and equipment between patient sessions in compliance with health standards.
- Documentation & Communication: Provide timely observations and updates to the treating physiotherapist regarding patient performance, progression, and feedback.
- Administrative Assistance: Assist front-desk staff during peak times with scheduling, patient flow management, and setting up treatment areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) diploma program, or an equivalent Occupational Therapist Assistant / Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) diploma.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a clinical or private practice setting preferred; enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Certifications: Current CPR / First Aid Certification (Basic Life Support - BLS).
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to dynamic patient care.
- Physical ability to assist patients with transfers, positioning, and exercise execution.
