Training Preparation and Delivery
- Coordinates training schedule in consultation with the Training department, demonstrating flexibility in meeting client requirements for urgency, location, and format across a mix of both in-person and virtual delivery.
- Acquires and maintains a deep understanding of the facilitator materials, courseware, and trainer kits and adapts training to fit each instructional engagement and client group.
- Establishes relationships with the clients’ key contacts for training to ensure administrative details are managed seamlessly and timely course feedback is gathered.
- Identifies ongoing or additional training opportunities and communicates them to the Director.
- Facilitates training that fully explores the depth of content while meeting the capabilities and learning needs of the participants, using appropriate examples, volume, and tone to maximize the learning environment and knowledge retention.
- Conducts standard virtual classroom set-up with every class booking.
- Uses courseware and participant materials in a way that demonstrates their value as learning tools and ongoing resources for participants.
- Captures learner feedback on course evaluations post-training and identifies areas of strength and improvement and incorporates those into future training sessions.
Program Development
- As a key member of the Training department, participates in updating session materials, including toolbox talks, infographics, and training guides.
- Works with instructional designers to update content and input regulatory changes as required.
- Ensures training materials are continually optimized for the format – in-class learning, virtual learning, or open learning (public) sessions.
- Learns new courseware as it is developed and acquires competency in new course pilots and roll outs. Contributes to maximizing the content and modes of delivery.
- Contributes to strategies and tactics for increasing visibility and awareness of our training expertise and industry awareness.
Key Relationships and Collaborations
- Reports to the Assoc. Director of Training and Development
- Internal collaborators include instructional designers, Marketing department, and Services team (advisors and administrator)
- External relationships with key client contacts, industry professionals, health and safety associations
Success Measures
Maximizing Training Scheduling – Demonstrates flexibility in maximizing the training schedule from both home-based and client-based locations within a range of ten to fifteen training days per month, leaving an appropriate amount of time for preparation and coursework development.
High Quality Instructional Delivery – Demonstrates professionalism as a learning and development practitioner through training and facilitation best practices, outstanding participant feedback, and preparation that optimizes the use of courseware and participant learning and interaction.
Contribution to MSABC Training Services – Stays abreast of industry developments and legislative changes and contributes to corresponding updates of courseware. Brings value-added insights and expertise to the entire Training team.
Location and Travel
- Based in the Lower Mainland, this position supports a hybrid of remote and office-based work, with travel around B.C. (primarily in the Lower Mainland)
Salary Range
- $74,000 – $94,000, based on a combination of education and experience
