About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FileMaker Developer to join our technology team. This position works directly with the Chief Technology Officer to design, develop, and enhance custom business applications that support our warehousing, fulfillment, logistics, and business operations.
This is not a typical FileMaker support role. You will work directly with the CTO to build new solutions, integrate with major carriers and third-party systems, automate business processes, and help evolve an enterprise platform that supports a growing logistics and fulfillment operation. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server solutions.
- Create efficient scripts, calculations, layouts, and relational database structures.
- Develop and maintain REST API integrations with carriers, customers, suppliers, and third-party applications.
- Assist with the design and implementation of automation and AI-driven business processes.
- Develop data import/export solutions using JSON, XML, CSV, EDI, and other industry-standard formats.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing applications.
- Work closely with the CTO and business users to understand operational requirements and develop practical solutions.
- Participate in planning sessions and contribute ideas that improve business processes.
- Document applications, integrations, and development standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional FileMaker development experience.
- Advanced knowledge of FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, scripting, calculations, and relational database design.
- Strong experience working with REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, and web services.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with users across all departments to understand their needs and provide practical solutions.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive working relationships with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- A passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience with warehouse management, logistics, ERP, or 3PL systems.
- Experience with EDI transactions and supply chain integrations.
- Familiarity with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure AI, Claude, or similar.
- Experience with JavaScript, Python, PHP, or .NET.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to customer portals or web application development.
