About The Role:
Station Place Long-Term Care Home is seeking an experienced and passionate Associate Director of Care to join our leadership team on a 12–18 month contract.
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Associate Director of Care will support the overall leadership, direction, and management of the Home's Care Department. You will work closely with the DOC and clinical leadership team to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements, professional standards, and AON policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
· Support the Director of Care in providing leadership and direction to the Home's nursing and care services.
· Assist in ensuring compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Ministry requirements, College of Nurses of Ontario standards, and AON policies and procedures.
· Support quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, risk management activities, and performance monitoring.
· Assist with Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) initiatives, quality assurance activities, and clinical indicator reporting.
· Monitor resident care and outcomes, ensuring care is delivered in a safe, respectful, and person-centred manner.
· Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, coaching, and support to nursing and care staff.
· Support recruitment, orientation, education, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
· Assist with staffing, scheduling, and the effective allocation of departmental resources.
· Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
· Work collaboratively within a unionized environment and support positive labour relations.
· Participate in the on-call rotation and provide clinical leadership during outbreaks, emergencies, and other operational situations as required.
· Support the DOC with investigations, incident follow-up, inspections, and other regulatory requirements.
· Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and organizational projects that enhance resident care and operational excellence.
Qualifications
· Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
· Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience in long-term care.
· Previous leadership, management, or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent education is preferred.
· Knowledge of Ontario long-term care legislation, clinical standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices.
· Strong understanding of quality improvement, Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC), risk management, and evidence-based clinical practice.
· Demonstrated leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
· Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
· Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
· A strong commitment to resident-centred care and creating a positive experience for residents, families, and staff.
