Summary
We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our team in Canada. This role is vital in supporting our manufacturing and recycling operations by efficiently handling heavy equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with all Company policies, OH & S Legislation and WCB reporting procedures.
2. Operate all stationary and mobile equipment in various of the plant, as needed.
3. Follow the preventative maintenance program for all stationary and mobile equipment including completing all supporting documentation and immediately report any defects which may jeopardize the safe operation of the equipment, using a Maintenance Request Form.
4. Understand and maintain quality and production standards and work to achieve established production goals.
5. Maintain all required production records, lockout logs, audits, etc. and submit this to the Plant Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
6. Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to meet daily production targets. This could include any area of the plant as deemed necessary by Plant Management.
7. Maintain clear and safe access to dumping areas for incoming vehicles.
8. May be required to perform pre-sorting duties on the floor. This may include opening bags, removing large items, removing garbage, etc.
9. Report any contamination issues to the Supervisors and/or Lead Hands.
10. Report any issues with operation of conveyors, traffic congestion, safety concerns, etc. to the Lead Hand and/or Supervisors.
11. Communicate effectively with the Shift Lead Hand, Production Supervisor and/or the Plant Manager, and Scale Coordinator to minimize errors and maximize production.
12. Trouble shoot problems with the equipment as required.
13. Ensure that all areas of work are well maintained in terms of Housekeeping and Organization.

- Qualifications
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders, Bob Cat & Forklift or similar heavy equipment.
- No specific educational requirements for the position.
- Incumbent must have a good knowledge of paper grades, shipping and receiving requirements and all plant operations, policies and safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently
- Must be able to operate and have experience on the Forklift. Previous experience in a skid or loader will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated equipment experience in a plant environment.
