Position Overview
The Camp Administrator will be responsible for the administrative work required to support the Community Roots Day Camp Program. This will primarily consist of creating and monitoring registration for camps, creating and distributing promotional materials, preparing documentation needed for camps, and liaising with parents and guardians of campers.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary tasks and roles of this position are the following:
· Transcribe program data from registration forms, accident reports, and incident forms from physical documents into a digital format.
· Process registrations that are received digitally.
· Design and implement a database structure to store the transcribed and processed data
· Identify and correct data errors or inconsistencies
· Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data such as patterns in accidents and incidents, fluctuations in volunteer and camper registrations from year to year, and missing information from past years
· Identify documents that should be archived and prepare them for long-term storage.
· Respond to inquiries about our programs and provide support on completing registration forms.
· Prepare required print materials for programs, as identified by program staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Characteristics, Qualities and Requirements
· A high school diploma, and at least one year of post-secondary education, ideally in an administrative discipline.
· Experience with graphic design and basic computer programming.
· Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent listening and communication skills: written, oral, electronic, and in social media.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality in both written and oral communication at all times.
· Demonstrated ability to approach situations with maturity, good judgement and integrity.
· Demonstrated organizational, self-discipline, time management and record keeping skills.
· Able to create a work plan by creating or identifying tasks, projects, and schedules to meet program deadlines.
· Must be able to demonstrate that they have met all of the requirements of the SafeR Church Program such as a Police Records Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
· Active Christian faith, with preference given to an active Anglican in good standing with a history of participation in parish life, demonstrated pastoral skill and an appreciation of and experience in working with young people.
Evaluation:
· An exit interview with the Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator will be completed at the end of the contract.
Where
· The Camp Administrator will work out of the Synod Office in Halifax.
When
· A reasonably consistent 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday 9 to 5, with occasional work outside those times.
· Contract will last for approximately 8 weeks

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
