Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the Theatre and Drama Studies program. Theatre and Drama Studies is a joint degree-diploma programmed delivered in cooperation with the University of Toronto Mississauga. This program offers students a comprehensive set of practical and critical skills. Sheridan seeks a part-time professor to teach in the following course within the Theatre and Drama Studies program:
DRS 421 Acting 7, Movement and Dance
Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
What You’ll be Doing
Delivering course curriculum in classroom and/or online, which includes ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques;
Tutoring and academic counselling of students, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;
Defining, evaluating and validating learning outcomes and designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning;
Developing individualized instruction and multi-media presentations and incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable;
Attending periodic faculty meetings;
Inputting student feedback into SLATE (Sheridan’s learning management software)

The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following qualifications:
Four-year undergraduate or Master’s degree in theatre or a related field is preferred;
Minimum of five years related professional experience is preferred;
Advanced knowledge in one or more fields of dance and movement practices such as yoga or pilates;
Practical experience in dance, movement and choreography;
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams), SLATE, and related industry/program softwares;
Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry is preferred;
Strong network of contacts with other professionals in the performance industries;
