The Technology organization at Loblaw is changing the way in which they deliver Products, Platforms, and Services (PPS) to internal and external customers. This journey is enabled by people – and the Senior HR Business Partner, Technology is at the core of this enablement. This role will be based out of Loblaw headquarters - 1 President’s Choice Circle.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Senior HR Business Partner, Technology will work in a fast-paced agile environment with Leaders and their teams directly to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans that drive growth, process excellence, and customer experience. This role maintains and enhances the organizations people strategy by providing human resources expertise across functional areas of HR including: onboarding, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, coaching, colleague engagement, talent management, compliance, employee relations, total rewards, and leadership development.
What You’ll Do:
Support the delivery and deployment of HR projects and cross-functional programs by fostering and maintaining strong internal relationships with key Business Leaders and stakeholders.
Leverage sound judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience to lead the development and implementation of strategic change initiatives for the client group, including organizational design, operating model, assessment and gap identification, communications and change management deliverables.
Establishes annual goals and priorities by leading the analysis and diagnosis of client needs, influences the direction for new or revised services, programs, processes, standards or operational plans, based upon the business’ long-term strategies.
Align the business strategies with HR strategic objectives to add value to the client, leading through issues which are complex and arise from broad internal or external challenges.
Partner with Recruitment and Leaders to develop proactive strategies to attract key talent, as well as retain and develop high potential and high performing colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right job for succession planning, current and future business needs.
Play a leadership role to recognize barriers to success and facilitate proactive solutions that support a performance driven culture with a focus on talent management, coaching and mentoring clients on talent reviews, performance management, succession and building a talent pipeline for high potentials (HIPOs).
Promote, educate, and train on diversity and recognition programs at client level.
Contribute to the development and growth of the broader HR team through effective training, coaching, and team collaboration.
Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement, Blue Culture and our b3 initiatives by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own colleague engagement and the sustainment of culture.
Ensures that the interests of colleagues and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations – ESA and Human Rights Code.
Serve as a coach and confidante to Leaders around people and organizational issues, leadership development, and act as an advocate for colleagues.
Flexibility to travel to other Loblaw corporate locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as required.

What You’ll Need:
Post-secondary education in business, HR or related discipline, preferably with a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.
Progressive HR experience with demonstrated success in client relationship management.
Business acumen demonstrated by supporting previous Technology client groups in a fast pace agile environment.
Ability to lead multiple, competing strategic priorities to execution.
Strong leadership ability, relationship development, influencing and persuasion skills.
Comfort presenting complex business issues to Leaders and Executives in a clear and compelling manner and an excellent facilitator of action plans.
Ability to interpret conceptual business or project objectives and assess impact on HR to define and articulate an inspiring future vision / state clearly, without having all the details.
A detail oriented, collaborative, proactive and results oriented style with demonstrated success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a team player.
Proven influencing, judgment, decision making and cooperative problem-solving skills.
Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
Exceptional commitment to meeting client needs, with strong sense of urgency.
Models our values and Blue Culture principles and is authentic, builds trust and makes connections.
Proficient with MS Suite with analytic skills that allow to build a compelling story, backed by data that enables recommendations.
Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction.
Sound knowledge of relevant employment and workplace legislation.
