Are you ready to apply your knowledge in the real world? We are currently looking for a Co-op (Electrical) student to join our Tufts Cove Generating station Engineering Team in a temporary position reporting to the Manager – Projects Engineering.
During your time with us, you will gain exposure to what it’s like to be part of a team supporting operational planning, maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives across Nova Scotia Power’s generating stations.
What you’ll do:
As an Electrical Co-op Student, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting capital projects and day-to-day plant operations while working alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and operations teams.
Working with E&I shop, operations, plant engineers to help troubleshoot day to day operating issues.
Drafting As-built drawings and procedures as required.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
What You'll Bring:
We're looking for curious, motivated students who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow their engineering skills.
You will be a strong candidate if you:
Are working towards an Electrical Engineering degree (preferred), ideally in the 2nd to 4th year of studies.
You are an experienced engineering student with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Having familiarity with risk management, project controls, and project management methodologies will be considered an asset.
Possess excellent communication and relationship skills, and an ability to work well with at various levels of the organization.
Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite will be considered an asset (E.g., Excel, SharePoint, Visio).
