TMC Manufacturing Company, Inc., along with its subsidiary TMC2 (1218146 BC Ltd) is a scientific material supplier based in North Vancouver, BC that produces key components for medical diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The company is currently expanding its facilities, having developed proprietary technology to produce ultra-purified materials used to produce cutting edge cancer detection and treatment.

Overview of our IT needs
The computing infrastructure of our company uses Microsoft Office 365, active directory, UniFi type networks, and Windows/Linux servers. TMC/TMC2 currently has approximately 40 users and is growing. Some upcoming challenges include increasing the use of file sharing via Sharepoint and OneDrive, and eventually fully transitioning from existing servers to cloud based services for increased user friendliness and data security. In addition, the company plans to implement a data base for monitoring our operational parameters and machine data in more detail, and transition from flat data to server-based databases. Other IT projects include implementation and continued development of human resources management software and inventory software.
We expect our IT specialist to be driven by a will to improve our systems, support our users, and contribute to the computing education of all our employees.
The ideal candidate would submit a cover letter highlighting their skills and experience to help tackle our challenges and projects. The ideal candidate will have have experience with Active Directory and Office 365 Administration.
Responsibilities
- Install and administer networks using basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LANS, WAN, VLANS, VPNs and Routers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
- Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
- Run routine back-ups for network servers and desktops
- Provide desktop support and user support for Microsoft Windows and Office 365
- Support IT related training opportunities geared at our employees
- Configure, deploy, migrate, and troubleshoot Windows Server, client PC, networking, printing, and related hardware and/or software issues
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 Administration is MUST
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
- Ability to multi-task, learn quickly
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Windows desktop
- Understanding of troubleshooting firewalls, managing switches, VPNs, VLANs, etc.
- Experience supporting backup and anti-virus w/centralized management
- Experience with Cloud based software (Office 365, Azure)
- Ability to specifically support the implementation of SharePoint and OneDrive company wide would be an asset
- PLC Programming: Experience with ladder logic would be an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science and/or work equivalent
- Education in scientific or technical field is an asset but not required
