MatrixHR is currently seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Business Development & Sales Manager to join our client on a full time permanent basis. This position is to be based at a suitable location in the eastern provinces (Montreal or Ontario area). It requires the individual to be aggressive in driving business development in their sales territory within identified customer segments, and to support existing customers in the territory.

Job Description:
● Assist senior management in defining sales growth strategies,
● develop effective sales plans that are aligned to strategic objectives in order to achieve overall business, team and individual targets;
● Implements and updates strategic and tactical marketing plans appropriate for the local market
● Plans visits and travels regularly to engage with key stakeholders;
● Proactively spend a substantial portion of time in sourcing and developing sales opportunities;
● Achieve sales targets and hold true accountability for the growth of sales
● Monitors and reports on competitor activity within the sales territory, develop a standard ‘Competitor Analysis’
● Discuss with International Sales Manager and the relevant Product Managers to develop the product offerings which suit particular territories;
● Assist senior management in decision making regarding local manufacture or other sources;
● Identify risk factors with each potential sale and mitigate accordingly;
● Foster and maintain beneficial relationships with potential customers
● Help develop, implement and execute sales plans
● Coordinate all marketing activities specific to sales in Canada;
● Develop and use the CRM system to support the export sales process and targets
● Attend trade shows and expos as and when required;
● Ensure that regular sales reports are done and updated as required;
Qualifications in Ideal Candidate:
● Self-motivated, confident person with 10 – 15 years of sales experience;
● High level communication and interpersonal skills – ability to adapt approach to suite different client stakeholders;
● Strong mechanical aptitude with a mechanical engineering and/or technical service background;
● Mechanical Engineering degree or experience in a relevant trade;
● Previous bulk materials handling equipment experience would be advantageous;
● Bilingual in French and English;
● Excellent communication and presentation abilities;
● Broad commercial and financial acumen;
● Skilled negotiator;
● Ability to travel as and when required unrestricted.
● Excellent general IT skills, including MS Office (word, Excel & Outlook);
