JOB TITLE: Hotel Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Comfort Inn & Suites and Southfort Inn, Fort Saskatchewan, AB
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep two neighbouring hotel properties running smoothly day to day. This is a solo role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can handle a wide variety of tasks independently, and understands that a well-maintained property directly impacts the guest experience. No two days are the same — if you enjoy variety and keeping busy, this is the job for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pool & Hot Tub
- Test and balance pool and hot tub chemicals every morning
- Maintain water quality in compliance with Alberta Health Services standards
- Keep pool equipment, filters, and mechanical systems clean and operational
- Log all chemical readings and maintenance activities for inspection records
Grounds & Exterior
- Maintain parking lot, lawn, and landscaping across both properties
- Mow grass, trim bushes, and keep exterior areas clean and presentable
- In winter: operate bobcat/skid steer for snow removal from parking lots and walkways
- Apply salt and sand as needed to maintain safe conditions for guests and staff
General Hotel Maintenance
- Perform daily property inspections and address issues proactively
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues (replacing filters, fixtures, etc.)
- Complete light carpentry, drywall patching, and painting touch-ups
- Replace light bulbs, door hardware, locks, and other room fixtures as needed
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest room maintenance requests
- Coordinate with and supervise outside contractors for larger repair projects
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and hotel brand requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial, or residential setting preferred
- Valid driver's licence required; experience operating a bobcat/skid steer an asset
- Familiarity with pool chemical testing and Alberta Health Services pool standards preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Physically capable of outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and a guest-first attitude
- Available for occasional evenings or weekends as needed

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
