Impact Engineering is currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) who is self-motivated and has a passion for sustainable design and making a positive impact on the environment. You are a trained E.I.T. or P.Eng. in mechanical building services design with specific knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems and energy.
You are a detail-oriented team player with good communication skills and enthusiasm to learn and grow. You will be independently leading project teams with support from senior engineers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage projects and internal staff, providing clear direction and mentorship
- Client relationship management and primary point of contact through project delivery
- Lead design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems focusing on energy retrofits and high efficiency new construction
- Manage project implementation and construction administration
- Deliver energy studies and reports, engineering design documents and engineered drawings
- Manage client communications and represent Impact in project meetings
Skills/Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Currently registered as an E.I.T. or P.Eng. with EGBC (or eligible to register)
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years mechanical E.I.T. / P.Eng. experience in buildings consulting
- Strong understanding of a variety of mechanical equipment and systems
- Strong understanding of Codes and Standards (BCBC, VBBL, ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA)
- Ability to lead engineering projects with confidence and strong communication
- Project management experience including client interaction and coordination of internal teams and subconsultants
- Knowledge of building controls systems
- Experience with drafting and modeling software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience in sales an asset
