You are: A skilled labourer seeking a full-time position with great benefits, and the opportunity to enter an Apprenticeship Program for Red Seal Carpentryor continue your existing training program.
We are looking to fill 2 roles. One should reside in the lower mainland Burnaby-Langley area and one on the North Shore-Vancouver area as work will primarily be in these areas.
Summary:
The primary responsibility for the Skilled Labourer is to support the Construction Manager as requested to keep the project moving forward.
Health & Minimum requirements:
· Healthy & physically fit
· Able to perform manual labour for several hours at a time
· Minimum 18 years old and possess a valid SIN#
· Must have a valid B.C. Driver’s Licence & a reliable vehicle to get to jobsites
· Clear communication in the English language and able to follow instructions
· Have basic construction related tools and P.P.E
General Responsibilities:
1. Follow site safety rules
2. Follow instructions from Construction Manager
3. Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and safely: forming, framing, finishing, door and window install, clean up, and other various carpentry tasks 4. Electrical/painting/plumbing/drywall are all subcontracted out but – you need to have a general understanding of these other trades; and how they work together in “house as a system”
5. Read site drawings
Compensation: $25/HR + depending on skills & experience
· Benefits package available for full time position after 3 months
