FINANCIAL ANALYST
Parian Logistics provides corporate shared support services and third-party logistics to a group of affiliated Canadian retailers, including Urban Barn, Suzanne’s, Warehouse One, Ricki’s, Bootlegger, and cleo. Parian Logistics’ corporate support services include accounting and finance, logistics and distribution, digital marketing, customer service, information technology, real estate and store construction services.
Parian Logistics is currently seeking a Financial Analyst who has strong retail and business acumen and is driven to gain a deep financial understanding of the business units. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, generating recurring and ad hoc reports to provide insights into strategic decision-making. The position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, aptitude for analytics and ability to collaborate across functional teams. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst will also work closely with the Presidents across the group of companies.

What you’ll be a part of
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic deep dives by developing and enhancing financial models to provide actionable insights for optimizing performance, providing real time reporting to support the business units and analysis of return on investment of strategic investments.
- Build long-range operating plans to support business initiatives.
- Cooperate closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans.
- Forecast different scenarios and ways to deal with potential outcomes.
- Mindset of continuous improvement of procedures for efficiency and controls.
- Mindset of continuous improvement to enhance financial processes, reporting methodologies, and data collection techniques to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
- Act as a key finance business partner throughout the organization.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, and/or business
- CPA designation or equivalent considered an asset
- 1-3 years of professional work experience with financial analysis, planning and budget controls, preferably in industry
- Knowledge of complex financial and business management concepts and practices used to evaluate and analyze financial and operational performance
- Capable of simplifying large amounts of data, building solutions
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience with a customer service orientation
- Logistics, inventory management, and retail experience is an asset
- Ability to work and achieve timelines under pressure and among competing priorities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, database applications and strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
- Data Mining Techniques experience
- General familiarity with Microsoft Power BI
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
