Job Title: Kitchen Helper
Report to: BOH Supervisor
Job Purpose or Summary Statement
The Kitchen Helper performs various cleaning, maintenance, preparation, and stocking duties in the kitchen. This role supports the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant by stepping in and completing duties as required.
Responsibilities
- Washes and dries all dishes, utensils, and cooking instruments as prescribed by the company’s cleanliness standards
- Neatly stores all utensils, cooking instruments, and dishes in their respective places
- Assists in preparing meal ingredients and packing take-out orders as needed
- Cleans and sanitizes the kitchen area as required including the removal of garbage
- Supports other restaurant staff by assisting with other tasks as needed
- Performs other additional duties as assigned

Education
- High school diploma preferred

- Time management and organizational skills: to self-direct performance and fulfill assigned duties
- Team player: to create a seamless workflow especially during peak hours
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and multitask
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal
Experience
- Prior experience in a kitchen setting
Working Conditions
- Rotating shifts scheduled around and during the restaurant’s hours of operations including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Working under conditions of high temperatures
- Fast-paced environment

- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
