The Charlotteville Brewing Company is a family owned and operated on-farm brewery. We are looking for a part time cook to work in the kitchen Thursday to Sunday. We're a small team that values creativity, sharing knowledge, and bringing the best out in each other in a fun and friendly work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure food preparation specifications are met, while executing appropriate food handling protocols
- Prepare and serve freshly made food items/dishes on a daily basis
- Maintain the quality of each dish while ensuring a speedy output
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Close the kitchen and set up the next day for success
- Conduct inventory counts and organize supplies with accuracy
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2-3 years previous experience (required)
- In-depth knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking methods (specifically: preserving, curing, fermenting, baking)
- Excellent knife and plating skills
- Graduate from a recognized college, preferably with Red Seal certification
- Food handlers certificate (required)
- Smart Serve (preferred)
Work Conditions/Physical Capabilities
- Impeccable attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time, as well as bend, stretch and lift up to 50lbs (25kg)
