Registered Practical Nurse Job Description:
- Reviewing/recording patient medical history, vaccine status and current health (blood pressure, height, weights).
- Preparing patients for exams and treatments including well baby exams, periodic health exams, diabetic checks, etc.
- Administering medications, vaccines and other treatments; monitoring patients for side effects.
- Creating, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans with the medical team.
- Performing wound care, such as cleaning and bandaging /suture removal.
- Ability to work with diverse clientele in a fast paced environment.
- Assisting in medical procedures as needed.
- Operating and monitoring medical equipment.
- Triaging patient medical concerns by phone when required.
Job Qualifications
- Nursing degree from accredited Canadian institution (or equivalent) with active certification status.
- Experience in clinical setting or other relevant qualifications is considered an asset.
- Police Record Check, 2 references, resume to be provided.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
