Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial System Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial systems, internal controls, ERP implementation, and system integration. This role will be critical in ensuring our financial systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable, providing key support to our finance and accounting departments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Systems Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of financial systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Maintain and enhance financial system configurations to support business needs.
- Develop and implement procedures to optimize financial processes.
ERP Implementation
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of ERP systems to improve financial processes and reporting capabilities.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop detailed project plans.
- Manage ERP project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
System Integration
- Oversee the integration of financial systems with other enterprise applications to ensure seamless data flow and consistency.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to design and implement integration solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, providing timely resolutions.
Code Parts Management
- Code Part Maintenance: Manage and maintain financial system code parts, including general ledger accounts, cost centers, profit centers, and other key financial dimensions.
- Setup and Updates: Ensure the accurate setup and maintenance of code parts to support financial reporting and analysis.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with the finance team to define and implement new code parts as needed.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial dimensions.
Chart of Accounts (COA) Maintenance
- COA Updates: Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts (COA) to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- COA Design: Collaborate with the finance team to design and implement changes to the COA structure.
- Consistency Assurance: Ensure consistency and accuracy in the use of COA across all financial systems and reports.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on COA updates and usage.
Reporting and Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into financial performance.
- Develop reports and dashboards in ERPs and reporting tools like Power BI
- Perform data analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide training and support to end-users on financial systems and reporting tools.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in financial systems and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead and participate in initiatives to implement new technologies and process improvements.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CISA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial systems analysis, internal controls, and ERP implementation.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and financial system integration. Experience with IFS is an asset.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools like SQL, Power BI, Azure
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft excel
- In-depth understanding of IT controls and internal controls framework.
